Tips for maintaining good oral hygiene

3. Use an antiseptic mouthwash. Mouthwash can help kill bacteria and freshen breath. It also helps to rinse away any remaining plaque or food particles after brushing and flossing.

4. Replace your toothbrush every three to four months. A worn toothbrush can't clean teeth as well. Also, replace your toothbrush if it frayed or the bristles are bent, as it will not be effective in cleaning your teeth.

5. Limit sugary and acidic foods and drinks. These foods and drinks can contribute to tooth decay and erosion. Sugary foods and drinks can lead to the formation of plaque, while acidic foods and drinks can erode tooth enamel.

6. Don't smoke or use tobacco products. These can cause bad breath, yellow teeth, and an increased risk of oral cancer. Quitting smoking or using tobacco products is one of the best things you can do for your overall health, including oral health.

7. Visit your dentist regularly. Regular check-ups and cleanings can help prevent problems before they start. Your dentist can also detect and treat any problems early on, which is important for maintaining good oral health.
